Wondering what to do with those fabric scraps or old clothing piling up?
Create twisted braids of bliss. And here is how..
You will need fabric, or old clothing, a clothespin, and a piece of cardboard cut out in shape of a square or shape of a spool of thread. (to wrap your twisted fabric around as you go)
Cut strips of scraps into 1 to 2 inch width and around arm length long (shoulder to wrist)
Take two pieces of scrap and tie the ends in a knot. Take one of the pieces of fabric and twist away from you four times and roll it over the other piece of fabric towards you. Then take the piece that has not been twisted and twist away from you four times and roll it over the previously twisted piece of fabric scrap. Continue this alternating the two pieces of fabric scrap. When you come to the end of your fabric scrap, just tie another one on the end of it.
Use a clothespin to pinch in place where you stop.
It will create a braided effect of lovely color and can be used for all sorts of things, essentially creating your own skein of yarn. It can also be used to decorate other things such as lampshades, greeting cards, or bows or ties. Making a chunky fun scarf can add life to any sweater.

Coming soon a tutorial how I used this twisted bliss to decorate an old lampshade!
